Your first week in a new country shouldn't be terrifying. Let us handle the logistics so you can focus on exploring your new life.
Every step below is accompanied by our local team — you will never walk into an office alone.
We meet you at the airport or railway station with a welcome sign. During registration periods, your university may also arrange pickup — we coordinate with them so someone is always there for you.
By Chinese law, you must register your temporary residence at the local police station within 24 hours of arrival (hotel stays excepted). Late registration can lead to a warning or a fine of up to ¥500 per day. We accompany you to complete this on your first day.
Register at your university on the date stated in your Admission Notice. Bring all original documents — passport and X Visa, highest education certificate, transcripts, physical examination form, no-criminal-record certificate, language test results (if applicable), Admission Notice, and JW202. Registration must be completed in person. You will also receive your dormitory assignment and student handbook.
New students pay at least one full year of tuition in RMB on registration day. Payment is accepted by UnionPay card or, on registration day only, in cash at the university finance office. We help you prepare the payment method in advance.
If you had your physical examination in your home country, it must be verified at the local health and quarantine bureau designated by your university. Bring three passport photos. The bureau is usually open 8:30–11:00 AM, Monday to Friday, and you must fast before the examination. If your home-country result is not accepted, you will retake the examination. We accompany you to the bureau.
Chinese Ministry of Education regulations require all international students to purchase the designated medical insurance. You can buy it online before registration or at the registration office on the day. Without valid insurance, your university will not complete your registration. We help you choose the right plan and confirm it is accepted.
If you hold an X visa, you must apply for a Foreigner's Residence Permit within 30 days of arrival. Required documents: valid passport, Admission Notice and an official letter stating your study period, JW202 form, visa/residence permit application form, passport photos taken at the police station, health certificate from the local quarantine bureau, approval letter from the provincial education department, and your valid lodging registration certificate. We prepare the full document set with you and go to the exit-entry administration office together.
Our service doesn't end after the first week. If you encounter any problems with your visa, university, or daily life, our local team is just a phone call away.
Want to start importing while you study? We arrange trips to Yiwu and Guangzhou wholesale markets, teach you how to use 1688 and Taobao, and introduce you to local supplier networks — so you can build your supply chain from day one. If business travel affects your schedule, we advise you on how to keep everything legal and your residence permit safe.
When entering China, you must declare in writing to customs if you carry:
We strongly advise against carrying large amounts of cash. Bring only enough for your first few days, and transfer the rest through a bank.
